Part II covers updates 11–21. You can download this part for free or you can read it online using the table of contents.

As you read through The Remnant Pieces, you might reach the conclusion that I have a somewhat negative view of the mental health profession. I would say that you’re wrong, mainly because if you express those views out loud, you attract certain people you don’t want hanging around you.

It’s worth establishing now that most of the characters in the Empathy novels aren’t based on real people. A few of them are pastiches of people I’ve known, but others were adapted from other novels I’ve written and most were created solely for this story.

The latter is the case for Dr. Azalea Brawney. She’s a bit of an inside joke, being the mother of another character I created many years ago. Those of you who’ve delved the depths of the Remnant Pieces interactive fiction site may have met Dr. Brawney’s daughter already; the rest of you will have to wait until she makes her grand appearance in The Night Belongs to the Beasts, the second novel in the series.

That would be a second novel that’s far more likely to manifest if more people are reading this one. You know you can do it for free, right? Thank you in advance.
